Meanwhile, OSes like NixOS can easily deal with different versions of the same package (with security backports) ... Apple seems lightyears behind.




Except there are no official security backports for Python 2 anymore.


it's not just nix/NixOS, macports on macOS deals with different versions of the same package just fine, I have a few pythons installed.
