Funny that one of your sources (the NPR one) is exactly the same as my graph. Other than that, it's full of qualitative statements that give an impression the data doesn't support ("For decades, the number of women in computer science grew faster than the number of men, but then we get to 1984.").

Yes, it was growing faster, but it never got close to parity.
