Thanks for sharing! Tom, the developer of SVGcode, here, happy to answer questions!

Very impressive. Is there documentation for the parameters (they weren’t always intuitive to me)? How did you implement it?

Thanks for the kind words! The documentation is still missing (tracked in part as https://github.com/tomayac/SVGcode/issues/19), but Potrace, the library SVGcode is based upon, has detailed information in a PDF on all parameters: http://potrace.sourceforge.net/potracelib.pdf.

It's got a few gems in there -

> the turdsize parameter can be used to “despeckle” the bitmap to be traced

Yeah, turdsize is a personal favorite as well, LOL.

This is one of the few features of Adobe Software I’ve been unable to replace. I use Adobe illustrators “trace image” tool for this every so often, and I’m excited to learn that I might finally have an alternative that isn’t overpriced malware!! I’m really looking forward to trying this out!

You’re welcome! The fun fact is that some (not sure about Illustrator [probably not], but definitely some non-free alternatives) use a commercial license of Potrace internally, that is, the same library that is used in SVGcode.

Nice tool and free! Thanks!

You’re welcome! With the underlying library Potrace being free, it was just a question of adding an expressive enough GUI on top.
