Please Microsoft let me disable Windows Defender forever (twitter.com/bouldersharp)

Windows 10 LTSC (the enterprise kiosk/embedded system version) has a somewhat neutered version of Defender, and lacks a lot of the bloatware, telemetry, and other objectionable content in consumer versions. Highly recommend if you're going to be deploying a Windows desktop as an appliance somewhere, might also recommend for a daily Windows driver.

Defender is definitely the strangest antivirus program I've ever used. On my windows box, some - but not all - programs are blocked from creating new files anywhere on the C:\ drive - I can only create new files on E:\. I literally cannot create and save files in notepad, without either running in Admin mode or disabling Defender, for example. Another strange example: steam can download games, but certain games won't boot and others can't create new savefiles. +1 for the permanent disable option

There has got to be something wrong. This os not the norm.

This just links to your tweet that says the same thing.

A guy made a HN post about his own tweet.

Given that the HN post has 20x the engagement of the twitter post, I can't decide if he's a mad lad or a sad lad.
