I didn't miss it, I'm aware of the Force Touch touchpad on new Macs. I just think that it isn't all that important because tap-to-click is usually the better option anyway.
I guess the main point of Force Touch is that it removes another mechanical component that could wear out or break (like HDD => SSD).
