HBO Leaves Amazon Prime as WarnerMedia Takes Subscriber Hit (hollywoodreporter.com)

This is so stupid. I don't care if HBO wants to "own the customer." As a customer, I'm not interested in being "owned" by anybody. What I want is ONE place (or as few places as possible) where I go to view streaming content, and manage subscriptions and so forth. That is what makes Amazon's "Channels" model so genius to me, and why I have a lot of those add-on subscriptions.

Am I going to go sign up for Shudder, CuriosityStream, HBO, Showtime, etc., etc., all individually on different sites? F%@! no. But I'm quite willing to do it through Amazon. Now, HBO want to pull me out of Amazon and make me go to their site? Screw you, HBO... how does that benefit me exactly? Yeah, no.

So most likely, I'll just forego HBO from now on, and take the money I was paying for the HBO Channel on Amazon and use it for the AMC+ Channel or Paramount+ Channel instead. Your loss, HBO.
