We’re Boris & Jacob and we’re building Visionrare, a fantasy startup investment game.
We’re both very interested in startups, and together with friends we used to play this game where we keep track in Excel which startups we believe in to see who is best in picking winners. This was great fun, but not very practical.
With Visionrare, we want to bring this game to the next level. Players can gather VisionShares - fantasy shares that are not related to real shares in any way - of the startups they believe in. Each startup on Visionrare has only a limited amount of shares available, and will be auctioned (except for during the beta). Like with fantasy football, we keep track of how the startups perform in the real world, and we rely on third party data providers like Tracxn for this. Every month, the top portfolios will earn rewards.
This way, we hope to bring the excitement of startup investing to people like you and me in the form of a fantasy game.
The beta that we’re launching consist of a marketplace of VisionShares from a selection of recent YC companies. Per company there are 5 shares available. In the coming weeks, we’ll be launching the secondary market, so you can trade with other players, and start the first tournament.
