TikTok fined €750k for violating children’s privacy (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl)

The most interesting part to me is that the fine has been given because the company did not provide a translation of their privacy policy. I don't think I've seen that before.

Their target audience largely exists of kids, so extensive knowledge of a foreign language cannot be assumed, but on the other hand, the translated privacy policy isn't exactly written in a way most kids will understand.


So the answer to my own question 'how long until they will do it again' [0] was answered by this decision to fine them €750k.

Took around 22 days since I called it. Not surprised about this then.
