It's not really a Firefox thing. It works on everything on Linux as far as I know, emacs, terminals, libreoffice writer, etc.


Also works on Mac, in Firefox, bash, and I guess everywhere.


Can also confirm on Windows with Chromium-based browsers


I don't understand why if I double click 'word' in such a sentence it will select the empty space aswell instead of only the word:

"a word blue"

This is why most of the times I'll precisely select character-per-character to make sure no weird spaces are coming in aswell - a deeply engraved habit at this point.


You're using Windows, right? I see it includes the space after the selected word. It doesn't make sense to me either.

The blogpost refers to what happens on a Linux distro, though.
