I am releasing all my recent eBooks for FREE (markwatson.com)

I wrote these books, all recently updated.

You can also buy the books on LeanPub if you want to encourage my writing, but you are welcome to them for free. The are licensed under Creative Commons Share and Share Alike, No Commercial Reuse.

Suggestions:

* Offer a bundle of these books, makes it easier to download in one go

* If you are on reddit, make a post in relevant subs, niche community tends to give better feedback

* I don't directly offer downloads from my site, but only through leanpub/gumroad. That way readers can get updates automatically

Thanks for the offer and good luck :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I thought of just setting all minimum prices on lean pub to zero, but then they are paying the hosting costs for free books. BTW, an earlier edition of my Java AI book was available for free on my web site for about five years, average about 300 downloads a day. I was extrapolating from that, again not wanting to burden leanpub with free downloads and just let them handle sales. Maybe it doesn’t really matter.

Hmm, that's an angle to consider too. You can ask them via email, they have been friendly whenever I needed something clarified.

As per https://www.jeffgeerling.com/blog/2020/my-devops-books-are-f... there were about 40k free downloads in about 2 weeks. I don't think Leanpub minds, but yeah, you can ask them first.

Very nice!

I would suggest to add them to https://github.com/EbookFoundation/free-programming-books as well.

You will drive an incredible amount of traffic to your website this way.

Thanks, I will do that tomorrow.

Mark, thank you for your generosity with your books.

I wish you could also share with us your process of writing books. You are a prolific writer, how do you do it?

I'd love that too!

Minor oopsie:

> Note: I often use Clozure-CL (CCL) instead of SBCL for developing my NLP libraries because CCL loads my data files much faster than CCL.

Lovinglisp p115

I just pushed a new version on leanpub, also adding you to the thanks for reporting errors section of the Preface.

The files on my web site will be updated sometime in the near future.

Thanks!, I will correct that right now.
