This document is dizzying. My first thought is YES, we should have had this ~1 year ago.

As always, there are hidden opportunities in documents like this for the HN/tech community to step up. I know tech isnt always the solution - but with the right focus on education and data analytics, it can be.

Heres one from the doc:

Sec. 4. Advancing Innovation in Public Health Data and Analytics. The Director of OSTP, in coordination with the National Science and Technology Council, as appropriate, shall develop a plan for advancing innovation in public health data and analytics in the United States.


Lots of content, but missing any reference I can find to the big 3 things that get the US out of the mess faster:

(1) moving to First Dose First

(2) approving J&J and Astrazeneca vaccines now

(3) waiting to vaccinate previous covid cases last.

We could absolutely be done with COVID as a severe issue within 100 days with these three actions (and a lot of work), all possible to happen today.


Yes we can.
