Ask HN: A way to remove certain websites from search results on Google?

I am getting a bit tired of SEO tricks that fill the first search result pages with fluff.

Is there a way to have a "blacklist" for searching of sorts, so I could remove things like "Quora", "WikiHow", "Medium", and the ilk from being listed?

Those are nice, thanks a lot. Will have to see if there is something like that for Safari, thou I doubt it.

Try to append to search string:

    -site:quora.com -site:wikihow.com -site:medium.com -site:pinterest.*

Use this:

-site:sitename.com query

That will filter out the "sitename.com" from your search results
