At Quill.org, we’ve created an online learning platform to help middle school students, primarily lower income ones, improve their reading and writing ability. Our pedagogy is based on years of research that shows that once students understand the logic behind constructing sentences, their ability to read and write improves dramatically. Unlike common multiple-choice-based learning tools, our tools allow students to practice writing sentences and passages in their browser, while still receiving real-time, focused feedback. This is a challenging engineering problem that we use a variety of methods to solve, from simple regex to machine learning.
Some info about Quill.org:
- We were named one of Fast Company’s Top 10 Most Innovative Education Companies in 2018
- We served over 2 million students last year and are continuing to grow.
- In April 2019, we won a grant from Google’s AI for Social Good initiative which provides us with both funding and mentorship from Google’s NLP experts.
- We’ve been funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, AT&T, Black Rock, and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (to name a few).
Vetspire is an AI-driven medical records and practice management platform for veterinarians. We’re a startup that builds the technology suite that powers veterinary hospitals, impacting every aspect of patient care from AI assistance in the exam room to managing client communications and clinical analytics.
We're looking for a full stack engineer to join our small and technical team to continue to bring veterinarians’ dreams into fruition. Your day to day work will consist of learning and understanding veterinarians' needs and bringing them into reality from the front-end to the backend. Some examples of what your weeks may look like:
* building remote tools for pet owners to sign consent forms, pay invoices, and fill in information online so they don't have to walk into the clinics during the pandemic
* creating an emergency room clinical census to monitor patients and alert staff in real-time
* designing the interface and algorithms for intelligent immunization reminders.
You'll be working directly with the thousands of veterinarians and staff using Vetspire every day, and talking with them often to better understand their needs and iterate on solutions with them. It's an incredibly fulfilling role to be able to make such a drastic difference in the lives of vets, and ultimately, everyone's pets. It's half-part engineering, half-part problem-solving.
Our backend tech stack is a GraphQL Phoenix/Absinthe application written in Elixir, our frontend is using React with the Apollo GraphQL framework, our primary database is PostgreSQL, and it all runs on Google Cloud via Kubernetes.

We’re looking for an experienced developer who enjoys working with server side technologies and possesses a good mixture of DevOps and application development chops, has been around the block a couple of times, and would like to build forward-thinking and innovative solutions with experienced teammates in a progressive-oriented environment.
About the role: You should have plenty of experience in building performant, easy to use, well monitored and well tested APIs, creating and maintaining robust web applications, designing efficient data flows, communicating clearly, usharing knowledge and questioning existing solutions.
If you are a positive-oriented hacker who does not fit the traditional company structure and resonates with the mindset of programming languages and paradigms being just a tool and not a heavy personal attachment and identification, then this role might be the right fit for you.
About the company: We’re a self funded SaaS company that primarily builds forward-thinking tools for internet professionals. We are a bootstrapped company that believes the future belongs to smaller companies that don’t subscribe to the 9-to-5 corporate way of doing things. We believe that the Silicon Valley era is over, and we are building a business that allows us to enjoy the freedom of working remotely where each of us has the autonomy and flexibility to have a high impact on the world with our work.

FullStory provides a privacy-obsessed plugin for capturing and indexing mobile app session replay and usage analytics at white knuckle scale. We are looking to grow our mobile engineering team with a senior iOS engineer to help expand and improve our mobile product offering. Rest assured, this role is not "building an iOS app" - you will be diving deep into the depths of iOS to create a plugin used across hundreds of apps running across millions of users.
If tracing through detailed system logs and occassionally firing up a dissassembler with high calibre ex-google and mozilla engineers sounds like a "jolly ol' fun Tuesday", this is the role for you. If you tinker with open source for giggles and routinely make jokes about the number "42", this is the role for you. If you want to work with a group of highly skilled, yet "just good people", engineers...and quickly grow to a leadership role, this is the role for you.
Come join us! The team is primarily remote, so...yes, very remote friendly. Apply here: https://boards.greenhouse.io/fullstory/jobs/4918319002
Strateos is turning life science into an information technology by creating a fully automated cloud wet lab. Scientists anywhere can define and (reproducibly!) run experiments over the internet on-demand and without investing up-front in a lab facility.
The Strateos Common Lab Environment (SCLE) takes Autoprotocol (http://autoprotocol.org/), a high-level JSON description of a biological protocol, and executes it on our custom-built robotic workcells. The protocols we handle routinely involve solving constraint programming models with thousands of variables and constraints in order to find the best plan that fulfills the scientist's biological intent.
Scientists manage their experiments through our web application or via our API. We provide a single platform that controls scientific devices from many vendors in a unified way, and an interface to control our automated labs.
Tech stack includes: Linux, Scala, RabbitMQ, Rails, Typescript, React, Ansible, Postgres
Benefits include: full medical/dental/vision insurance; catered lunch and dinner, and a fully stocked kitchen; flexible vacation policy; 401(k) with matching; gym and commuter reimbursement; and education reimbursement up to $3,000/year.
I'm not a coder but I have managed software engineers in the past and done UI/UX design and user research/testing, customer support, technical writing, etc...
I've been a non-technical cofounder for multiple startups and co-founded two non-profit makerspaces. I currently live in Florida and would like to work remote for a dynamic and fast growing company.
All of our products are in AWS and believe in Infrastructure as Code and manage up to 6 AWS regions via terraform. We recently started to run our first production workloads in k8s and are looking to refine our workflows and processes there. We use what makes sense, most of our tech stack is in Java & Python & Go with some Ruby and Rust sprinkled around. On the infrastructure side we heavily rely on AWS, Cassandra, Kong, Spinnaker, Consul, k8s etc. This is a great opportunity to shape and have significant impact on products and how our infrastructure and processes will look like in the future.
We are currently looking for people on all levels to join in:

oso (backed by Sequoia) puts security in the hands of the makers. We're doing this by delivering security as code, or as Charity Majors (cofounder & CTO of Honeycomb) put it, "Consumer-quality developer tools" for security (https://twitter.com/mipsytipsy/status/1288326027001782273) – beginning with an open source policy engine for authorization.
We open sourced oso this past summer, and the feedback has been amazing. We are out to build a big, vibrant community of open source users, and we need to be proactive to achieve that goal. To that end, we are hiring our first Developer Advocate. This person will report to the cofounder/CTO and work closely with him, the cofounder/CEO, and the rest of the engineering team.
We are hiring folks who want to put security in the hands of fellow makers. We are building the product in Rust, which we think is both a good design choice for our use case and a fun choice for the team. The team members who join now will not only have a disproportionately large impact on the product and the community, but also on the culture and future of the company.
We are based in NYC and hiring folks remote or onsite.
To apply, please visit https://www.osohq.com/company/jobs or email jobs [at] osohq [dot] com.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
We're looking for an experienced front-end developer to join us, especially someone with several years of experience building and shipping complex applications. Ideally you would own the front-end architecture for major portions of our product and still be comfortable spending time on minor css details. You should also be interested in leadership - being responsible for managing timing and functionality of the front-end.
Our development team is a small group of very capable engineers and we like to balance building thoughtfully with getting things shipped. The position offers the opportunity to deeply understand our problem space and channel compassion for the experiences of older adults and the challenges of caregiving into building a mission-driven, elegant, and intuitive product.
August Health is an early stage company that builds technology to transform quality of care for vulnerable older adults. Our product is guiding the transition from complex paper-based practices in the long-term care industry to a digital platform that improves care for elders and the caregivers who support them.
Our team has previous experience at Apple, Google, Adobe, and Landmark Health. Together, we’ve co-founded and exited multiple companies, managed large engineering and product teams, shipped features used by hundreds of millions of users, and led clinical teams supporting thousands of patients. We are funded by a group of top tier Silicon Valley investors.

We make source control and DevOps tools for the Salesforce ecosystem. We were shocked to learn that Salesforce devs and admins build impressively complex applications without any kind of source control or CI! The market is growing fast as more companies embrace “low code” platforms like Salesforce ($13B was spent customizing Salesforce in 2017).
We’ve reached profitability working with initial customers like Sysco, Twilio and Slack and just raised a round from https://www.indie.vc/. We admire companies like Basecamp, Mailchimp and Atlassian who grew mostly with customer revenue.
We’re looking for an experienced backend engineer to take a senior role working with our CTO in Berlin. The position is remote friendly. As an early member of a tight nit team, you will have meaningful impact on everything we do: code, architecture, infrastructure, team and culture.

Earlier this year, our self-driving delivery robot R2 became the first autonomous vehicle to receive an approved exemption from the US Department of Transportation. R2 then became the second autonomous vehicle to receive a driverless testing permit in California. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we set up contactless delivery services with R2 at temporary care facilities in California to carry food, water, and medical supplies to patients and doctors with the goal of decreasing points of contagion.
Today, we’re excited to announce another first for Nuro. For the past few months, R2 has been testing on city streets fully autonomously in three different states. No drivers. No occupants. No chase cars.

7 out of our last 10 authors made $50k+ (each). We’re the authors of Fullstack React, ng-book, Fullstack Vue and we’re looking to work with authors like you to write a few new courses this year. Our books & courses sell very well because: - We go way beyond API docs and teach everything you need to know to build real apps. - We guarantee they're up-to-date. - We invest in marketing the books (and have an active email list of over 100k) - We love the topics we write about and aim to create something remarkable every time. If you decided to self-publish, you may find the marketing is more than writing the course. We have an audience, and we know what they want to learn - so when your course is done, we already have people who want to buy it. If you decide to go with a “traditional” publisher, you may be given a mediocre editor, write your manuscript in MS Word (ha), and earn 5-15% in royalties. With us, our editors (me) are programmers first, our tooling is dev-friendly, and our royalties on profit are split 50/50. (For scale, the author of Fullstack Vue earned $20k on the opening weekend, Fullstack D3 even more.)
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, fill out the form linked below. Looking forward to hearing from you!

We are building an education company, starting with homeschooling. If you are interested in working on alternative education models outside of the traditional system, this will be an interesting opportunity. We are a team of 11 right now, coming from companies like SpaceX, Lyft, Coinbase, Square, Airbnb, Khan Academy, and Gumroad. To get in touch, email us at email@example.com. More details about the roles: https://withprimer.com/hiring
Causal is a human way to think and communicate with numbers. Our product is a number-crunching tool that's a bit like a spreadsheet and a bit like programming. Our vision is to be the de-facto way for anyone to work with numbers on a computer.
We're very early stage, but well-funded by some great investors across the US and Europe, and ready to make our first hire.
Role: Full-stack Engineer
Our stack is React/Redux/TypeScript on the frontend, and Node/TypeScript on the backend. We're looking for engineers who have experience with these technologies.
Our product primarily consists of a web UI on the frontend and a computation engine on the backend. The product needs a low floor and a high ceiling — it should be simple enough for anyone to get started with, but powerful enough for really complex use-cases. Performance is paramount on both the frontend and backend.
Our next big project is a rewrite of the computation engine to efficiently handle models with up to 1M nodes. The challenge is to show the user instant results (frontend) when possible and run complex operations (Monte-Carlo simulations, API calls) on the backend. We also want to improve our multi dimensional modeling capabilities which leads to various UI/UX challenges.
Our roadmap contains more projects we're planning to work on: https://www.notion.so/00f79272b4ec4d6790ec98120788d850.
We have a nice office in London (UK) but are also open to remote hires. If this sounds interesting then I'd love to chat! taimur (at) causal.app

Join the only company in the world that launches & lands rockets, sends humans to space, builds an interplanetary rocket, and an entire space internet constellation!
I'm Steve. I work for SpaceX, and I'm the hiring manager for the 'Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (Application Software): https://grnh.se/1f5a69532us' position. I've been here for 4.5 years and I think what we do is neat.
This is an exciting time to be working in this organization. We just launched Starlink Beta; we have engineers writing software to help produce Starlinks (the dish), control our network, and manage customer accounts. At the same time, we have engineers writing software to help produce Starships, Dragon capsules, and refurbished Falcon 9 first stages. The projects we take on to aid these programs are challenging and rewarding.
If you have any questions about the role, our organization, or working at SpaceX, ask away. I'll do my best to respond promptly.
Thanks for the insights ... I have to say that list is one of the coolest "job boards" I've ever seen. Rocket (Computer) Science! There are a couple I'd apply to but I'm in a position where I have to work remotely for at least the near term.
I actually sent in an application last week for one of the roles listed. Totally agree it's a great time, you folks have a lot of of very cool things going on.
I do have two related questions. Just based on the listings I took a look at last week and what's here now, the engineering orgs at least seem relatively flat.
Would you say that's true or is it just whats on the roster? Second question is if 'Senior' means anyting specific at SpaceX or is it just intended to communicate expectations around experience/skills?
Senior Engineer carries high expectations around scope, impact, and autonomy. In other words, Seniors have a lot of responsibility, are expected to move mountains regularly, and operate with relatively little direction.

The companies that win today are those that put an understanding of their customers and prospects at the heart of their organisation; the investment in a central data team is an essential part of this journey. COVID-19 and the global switch-off of the in-person economy is accelerating these trends: interacting with and understanding your customers online is key to surviving and thriving in the new environment.
At Snowplow we are focused on powering the data journey that these central data teams are embarking on. To win in the new world, it’s essential that the data team can focus on the journey to value and mastery, and not get derailed by costly data delivery issues or burdensome organisational complexity. Snowplow helps data teams to do this, offering a data delivery platform that collects and operationalises behavioural data, at scale.
