I don’t take this at face value at all. They opaquely complain about something without proof. The Mailchimp terms and conditions include nothing about censoring content other than the usual Spam suspects- get rich quick, porn, gambling, etc.

Private? Mailchimp is a platform for spamming people, not a private email provider.

Can't recommend the node sendmail package enough[1]. Easier to set up then any service and fast.
