I mean, there are two sets of standards. Google picked one, the author picked the other. The other 2000 words of the article seems to be a rant about how Google makes money off of ads.
Isn't it more like "Google picked one, and Microsoft/Apple/IBM/Linux/*BSD/Cisco/Oracle/HP/... picked the other"? Besides Google's, the only OSs I see which support IPv6 but not DHCPv6 are VMS, Symbian, and z/OS.
