Curious about this, I had a look at some Tesla camera footage, the youtube video on this site https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-dashcam-autopilot-cameras-fi...

As a human driver I'd say you could drive ok with that although looking into the distance the images are annoyingly blurry compared to what I'd see by naked eye driving normally. Maybe comparable to driving in the rain with so so windscreen wipers.

I'd say it's marginal if I'd be able to drive safely with vision like that.

quite a lot of the time, the vertical 'smear' prevents me seeing what something is or if it's moving towards me, and the dynamic range is too poor to make out black cars on a black background.
