I thought that as well, but then I realised that I was literally moving my cross over the button and clicking as fast as I can. Thats not how I usually browse the web. I move my cursor usually where I am reading, which includes links, so I am hovering over it before I have decided to click it

I usually move the cursor out of the way, because I dislike it covering text or images. So when I do click on something I actually move over there and click immediately. How fast that goes is pretty much the textbook case of Fitts' law.
