I remember downloading Xilinx FPGA tools some years ago. You HAD to download 14.1.0 (or whatever) first, at 6GB, and then get the patch from that to 14.1.1 (another 6GB), and then to 14.1.2 (guess how many gigabytes!). They also provided a combined download to go directly from 14.1.0 to 14.1.2... which was 12GB. Solid.
