Yup, a popular JavaScript framework requires JavaScript.

Why is that a problem? I understand disliking tracking or disliking parallax sites or disliking realllly slow loading sites.

But the web is a whole lot better today. I can upvote a HN post without having to click submit and get redirected, I can see a dropdown menu without it being cluttered, I can use rich editors when writing content, and overall I can interact with sites in a way that was impossible 15 years ago.

Do some people abuse JS? Sure! But the web is a much better place today, especially for non-technical people, than it was 5 or 10 years ago.
