I'm not sure if this is allowed - but I've received lots of positive feedback on it so thought I would share it with HN. If it isn't allowed, feel free to remove it. :)
There are ten steps in total. Each step will provide you a puzzle to solve that will lead you to the next step. Technical knowledge may be required - but nothing highly specialized - meaning you don't need to be a CS Major or cryptographer to be able to solve any step. It starts off relatively simple and gets increasingly complex with each step. Being familiar with the anime "Serial Experiments Lain" may augment the experience, but is completely unnecessary for solving each step. Having access to UNIX tooling may simplify some of the problems - but they can all be solved with free, existing tools with the right amount of searching. Programming knowledge may also be useful but, again, is not strictly a requirement. There is no need to "roll your own solution" to any of the problems - but you may find it easier if you can!
