Well, if it were criminal money, the world would much more clearly be a better place because of it. In no situation does this increase the amount of crime in the world.
Possible, but I don’t quite get how laundering through a charity would work. Maybe they’re tumbled with dirty money before contribution? The charity gets written off as a cost of business.

Well, if it were criminal money, then I guess it matters how it was obtained.. e.g. if they killed 5,104 babies to get it. Could have been a boring white-collar crime though, since I'm sure someone would have noticed 5,104 dead babies and raised an issue with it.
Presumably that crime would have occurred no matter where the money ended up, so you might as well use that money for a good cause. It only matters becaus a) someone found their money and wants it back or b) people dislike the giving of money to charities and treat it with suspicion.
