I interviewed recently and had very similar experience. Only applied for postings that were ideal fit based on their requirements - basically the exact same role at 20+ companies. Only heard back from ~half, then got offers from ~%70 of the ones I heard back from (so roles really were fitting).
I found that medium/big companies replied almost without exception and the ones I haven't heard back from are almost all small startups so I assume the real reason is recruiters there are just fuckups.
