There's a big difference between not reading everything related to a topic and not even doing the most basic cursory search. Have you never heard of 'how to ask questions the smart way'? Notice how I'm not linking to anything? Do you think you'll have to read the whole Internet to know what I'm talking about?



You're right. At the same time I think some people want to post in a forum or talk to someone. Some people want conversation. I think that's ok.


I get annoyed when people ask something of others without having made a very basic effort themselves.

You'll notice for example that even my initial comment pointed the guy to the answer (i.e.: it's in the third paragraph of the link).

Now, both requirements aren't opposite, someone could have made a comment like this: I like Bezos's notion of a Day 2 company, how it differs from Day 1, etc.

Basically, I like people to show that they aren't asking someone else to do the work for them (or, if they are, at least they made some attempt).

That's at least as reasonable a position as the one you just expressed IMO.
