> “We were of course hoping for some new physics to appear, but we unfortunately find that the Standard Model, as usual, withstands the test,” added Halzen.

I hope the day that we find something not predicted by the standard model is within my lifetime. That bastard has been right far too long, and we know very well that it isn't compete. To the physicists out there fighting the good fight, we salute you.

Not sure how up to date, but there are some results in that direction: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physics_beyond_the_Standard_Mo... .

I honestly think that physicists are trapped until they eat their peas about the Copenhagen extraneous assumption and rewrite physics to remove it.

Einstein-Bohm-Bell turn out to have been the right camp, and non-locality not non-determinism is the kooky thing about quantum mechanics. And now we need to rebase ~70 years of physics.

(Also, no one has explained to me why it's appropriate to incorrectly model the topology of tunneling, hence all quantum interactions by pretending things are operating in a manifold.... But that's a debate for a different day.)
